My name is Nicole, I'm 19, 5'2 and I love health and fitness, it's a key element to my life. I have a true dedication to lead a healthy lifestyle, after being unhealthy and very overweight for 11 years. My blog is just one of the few things I do to keep me motivated. Tumblr has been a great place for me to find out new diet plans, work outs and to connect with others going through this with me. Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I’ve heard a lot recently surrounding sugar in fruit. Not only is fruit less condensed with the stuff (who realistically is going to eat 6 oranges on the run??) but while sugar in soft drinks is associated with sugar crashes and even disease, sugar in fruit doesn’t, and the fruit itself has actual health benefits.

Get your sugar from the right place!

I hate when people cut fruit out of there diet! Fruit is good for you! It’s all natural, it will. Not. Make. You. Fat.

Forget crappy store-bought veggie burgers. These are delicious. I used about 1 cup of sweet potato with 1 cup of cooked quinoa and 1 egg, which made 4 small-ish patties. Scale up accordingly.
To cook quinoa, rinse well and then add 1 part quinoa to 1.5 parts water in a pot. Bring to a simmer, lower the heat, cover, and cook until water is absorbed (about 15 minutes). Almost every other quinoa recipe I see says 2 - 3 parts water and it’s why I hated quinoa for so long — it turns to mush! Less water will give you fluffy quinoa every time.

Thank you for this! I know what I’ll be having for lunch tomorrow woop!

Anonymous: Oh! :) Can you tell us about your bf?

Oh yeah, of course. :)

Originally, he was my brothers friend since they were about 16/17. The moment I saw him, I had a crush on him, however he and I were never friends or spoke to each other than an odd ‘Hi’ and such. But years went on and we started hanging out (long story) and we got close. We started dating in January then. Time progressed and we just kept getting closer. We spent more time together and I was going down to his house a lot more. Nowadays, we’re together a lot, I spend more time at his house than my own. He makes me really happy. I never liked someone so much. He accepts me even with all my crazy flaws. He’s helped me recover from some things. He’s made me happier and more confident. I couldn’t ask for someone better.

Anonymous: Do you have a boyfriend or are you single?

Yep, I’ve a boyfriend.

So, it’s been a month this I exercised last. I had my Gallbladder removed and wasn’t able to do any of the exercises I normally do. I lost motivation to exercise at all then.

I’m beginning to crave it again. I crave the sweat. I crave the burn. I want to feel my heart race and my blood rush. I want to feel strong and good. I need to get back into the game.

I’ve a doctor appointment tomorrow and he’s gonna tell me if it’s a thumbs up to go back to things or not.
